What’s new in the population of Australia?
Australia’s population has been growing, but the latest census figures show that population growth has slowed since the beginning of the year.

It’s the first time Australia’s water meter replacement has been rolled out.
In the US, the population has increased by 7.3 million, and the US Census Bureau predicts the US will have a population of about 9.8 billion in 2021.
The UK is also on track to have a new baby boom, and its population is forecast to hit 12.8 million in 2021, up by 1.4 million.
The growth rate is slower than the US’s, but not as slow as the UK’s, which is forecasted to have an increase of 2.4 per cent in 2021 to 7.1 million.
